Mabel Rivero

Our teacher Mabel Rivero is an internationally acclaimed, highly sought after professional Tango teacher, choreographer and dancer. She lives in Norwich (UK) where she regularly teaches classes at Tango Norfolk and is significantly transforming its tango community.

For twenty years, she lived and worked mainly in Berlin, and she continues to teach tango workshops and classes there and all around Europe. You’ll find her regularly teaching several times per year at The Feast (Devon, tangofeast.com ) and on Crete tango holidays (lamilonga-tango.com) . She fluently switches between the follower’s and leader’s role and is renowned for her dance expression, playfulness and tango walking. In her teaching and dancing, she focuses on improvisation and creative responses to music.

Mabel is a brilliant and inspiring teacher, able to analyse and correct tango students’ inconsistencies immediately, irrespective of whether they are leader or follower. Her style is energetic, warmly friendly and always encouraging. Her gentle but challenging approach reflects her passionate desire to see students’ progress in their dancing and for the community to fully engage.
