Tango guru Michael Lavocah presents the life and music of “the maestro” Osvaldo Pugliese, who created the most passionate and intense music tango has ever known. Forming his orchestra in 1939 from a cell in Argentina’s most notorious political prison, he stood firm against decades of persecution for his communist beliefs, eventually leading his musicians and his devoted fans alike to a triumphant night at one of the world’s grandest opera house.
This talk follows on from the previous one in December 2021 on Francisco Canaro which was very enthusiastically received. Michael is internationally famous for his ability to help people listen to and appreciate tango music. This is a rare opportunity to hear him in Norwich.
Doors open: 7:20pm
Talk starts: 7:30pm sharp!
Talk ~90 minutes followed by dancing to Pugliese’s music.
Costs: £10 / £8 for TN students
